freeQuestion Finder

Find the questions people ask about anything.

Type a topic. We run it through Google and Bing autocomplete sixty-odd ways and hand back every question, comparison and phrasing people actually type, grouped and ready to export.

How it works

Autocomplete, asked politely and thoroughly.

Autocomplete is the closest thing to a public record of what people type. Every suggestion exists because real searches looked like it. The catch is that the box only shows ten at a time, and only for exactly what you've typed so far. So we type for you, many times over.

  1. 1Question words

what, how, why, when, where, which, who, can, does, is, are, should and will, both before and after your keyword.

  2. 2Comparisons

your keyword followed by vs, or and versus. These show which alternatives people weigh you against.

  3. 3Prepositions

for, with, without, near, to and like. These reveal use cases, constraints and local intent.

  4. 4A to z

your keyword plus each letter, which surfaces the long tail that the other patterns miss.

We ask Google and Bing in parallel, six requests at a time, then remove duplicates and sort each suggestion by what it contains rather than which probe found it. Identical lookups are cached for an hour, so re-running the same keyword is instant and the engines aren't bothered twice.

What to do with them

Turn the list into pages that get quoted.

Cluster, don't chase. Twenty phrasings of “how to clean a coffee grinder” are one page, not twenty. Group questions by the answer they need, then write one strong page per group with the variants covered in subheadings.

Answer first. Put the direct answer in the opening sentence under each question heading, then the nuance. This is what featured snippets reward, and it's what AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews lift when they cite a source. Our answer-ready checker scores whether a page is written that way.

Mine the comparisons. “X vs Y” suggestions are buying-stage searches. If your product appears in them, a fair, specific comparison page is often the highest-converting thing you can publish. If it doesn't appear, that tells you something about awareness too.

Mark it up. A visible FAQ section with matching FAQPage schema helps search engines and AI crawlers read the question-and-answer structure. Check yours with the structured data checker.

Limits

What autocomplete can't tell you.

Suggestions are filtered. Engines drop offensive, dangerous and some brand-sensitive phrases, and they favour what's trending, so a seasonal topic looks different in December than in June. Very new or niche keywords may return little or nothing at all.

And there are no volumes here. A suggestion shows that demand exists, not how much. Use this list to decide which questions to answer, and a volume tool to decide which to answer first.
