AI Visibility Platforms Compared: Enterprise vs Mid-Market
by the AEO GEO Labs team5 min read
An AI visibility platform tracks how AI engines like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity mention and cite your brand. Enterprise platforms such as Profound, Scrunch, Conductor and BrightEdge add security controls, crawler analytics and content workflows, sold through sales teams. Mid-market platforms such as Peec AI, Otterly.AI and AthenaHQ offer faster setup and published pricing. Choose by team size, engines and reporting needs.
This comparison sits under our guide to what AI visibility is. For the full tool list, including the AI features inside Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking, see the best AI visibility tools. Vendor facts below were checked on each vendor's site in early October 2026.
Enterprise vs mid-market AI visibility platforms at a glance
Enterprise and mid-market AI visibility platforms differ less in what they track than in how they're bought, secured and used.
| Enterprise platforms | Mid-market platforms | |
|---|---|---|
| Examples | Profound, Scrunch, Conductor, BrightEdge AI Catalyst | Peec AI, Otterly.AI, AthenaHQ |
| Buying model | Demo and sales contract | Self-serve, published tiers, trials or free tiers |
| Engines | Three to seven, depending on vendor | Three to 11+, some sold as add-ons |
| Prompt data | Your prompts plus estimated prompt volume databases | Mostly your own prompts |
| Extras | AI crawler analytics, content tools, shopping, agent-facing site versions | Competitor and source analysis, exports, integrations |
| Security | Compliance features listed (Profound lists RBAC, SCIM, SOC 2) | Varies, check before buying |
| Best for | Large brands, many products, many markets | SMBs, SaaS teams, agencies with many small clients |
Enterprise AI visibility platforms
Enterprise AI visibility platforms are built for large brands that need many prompts, markets and users, plus security review.
- Profound lists coverage of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek and Google AI Overviews. Its modules include Answer Engine Insights, Prompt Volumes, Agent Analytics and a Shopping module, and its site lists RBAC, SCIM and SOC 2 compliance. Our Profound review covers it in depth.
- Scrunch monitors ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, and adds an Agent Experience Platform that serves a lightweight, machine-readable version of your site to AI agents. It lists a 7-day trial.
- Conductor builds AI visibility into its enterprise SEO suite, tracking ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and Perplexity alongside content creation and site monitoring tools.
- BrightEdge AI Catalyst tracks Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity inside the BrightEdge platform, with prompt research suggestions. The BrightEdge AI visibility review looks at it more closely.
The common thread is integration. If your SEO team already lives in Conductor or BrightEdge, adding their AI module avoids a second data silo. If you have no incumbent, a dedicated platform like Profound or Scrunch is usually deeper on AI-specific features.
Mid-market AI visibility platforms
Mid-market AI visibility platforms favor fast setup, transparent pricing and the core metrics most teams actually use.
- Peec AI tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, with brand, competitor and source analysis. It publishes tiered plans with monthly or annual billing and calculates usage from prompts, models and tracking frequency. See the Peec AI review.
- Otterly.AI lists a Lite plan at $29 per month billed monthly as of October 2026, covering 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Claude, Gemini and AI Mode as add-ons.
- AthenaHQ says it monitors more than 11 models, uses a credit system with a free tier and a Starter plan at $295 per month, and integrates with GA4, Search Console and Shopify. The Athena AI visibility review has the details.
Mid-market tools usually cover the engines that matter for most buyers. What you give up is scale, deep security paperwork and extras like crawler analytics.
How to choose the best platform for AI visibility metrics
The best platform for AI visibility metrics is the one whose numbers you can trust and act on. Ask every vendor these questions before buying:
- How many times does each prompt run per check? SparkToro and Gumshoe found less than a 1 in 100 chance of the same brand list appearing twice, so single-run results are noisy. Prefer platforms that report rates.
- Which engines are included, and which cost extra? Engine add-ons can double the price.
- Where do prompts come from? Your own list, a modeled database, or both. Ask how database volumes are estimated.
- Can I see the cited sources? Source data tells you where to do outreach, which is often more useful than a visibility score.
- Can I export raw answers? You want the actual text, not only a dashboard score.
- How is location handled? Answers differ by country. Check you can track the markets you sell in.
Our view: no AI visibility platform is "the leader" across the board as of October 2026. The category is young, features change monthly, and the right choice depends on your engines and team more than on any vendor ranking.
When you don't need a platform yet
You don't need an AI visibility platform if you have fewer than about 30 important prompts or haven't confirmed which engines your buyers use. A monthly manual check in a spreadsheet gives you a baseline at no cost, and it teaches you which prompts are worth paying to track. Bing Webmaster Tools also offers a free AI Performance report for Microsoft Copilot citations, launched in public preview in February 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Who offers the best AI visibility platform?
No vendor is clearly best for everyone as of October 2026. Profound, Scrunch, Conductor and BrightEdge suit enterprises needing scale, security and integrations. Peec AI, Otterly.AI and AthenaHQ suit smaller teams that want self-serve setup and published pricing. The best fit depends on which engines your buyers use, how many prompts you track and who reads the reports.
What is the leading AI visibility metrics platform for enterprises?
Enterprise teams most often shortlist Profound, Scrunch, Conductor and BrightEdge AI Catalyst, based on their positioning and enterprise features. Profound and Scrunch are dedicated AI visibility platforms, while Conductor and BrightEdge add AI tracking to established SEO suites. Run a trial or pilot on your own prompts before signing, because results quality varies by category and engine.
Are enterprise AI visibility platforms more accurate?
Not necessarily. Every platform measures answers from its own test sessions, which approximate a new user rather than your real buyers. Accuracy depends more on how many times prompts run, which locations are used and how answers are parsed than on price. Enterprise platforms add scale and features, but you should still read trends, not single numbers.
Can agencies use mid-market AI visibility platforms for clients?
Yes. Many mid-market platforms offer multi-project plans, exports and reporting connectors that suit agencies managing several smaller clients. Check how prompts are counted across projects, whether white-label reports are available, and whether engine add-ons apply per project. For large enterprise clients, the client may already have its own platform you'll need to work inside.
