BrightEdge AI visibility tracking runs through AI Catalyst, a module of BrightEdge's enterprise SEO platform. As of October 2026 it tracks brand mentions, citations and sentiment across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and other AI platforms, benchmarks them against competitors, and turns gaps into content briefs. Pricing is not published; BrightEdge sells through demos.
This review sits under our comparison of AI visibility tools. Facts come from BrightEdge's own website, checked in October 2026. We describe the products as the vendor presents them; we have not run a paid account.

BrightEdge AI Catalyst features
AI Catalyst is BrightEdge's main AI visibility product. Its product page describes five capabilities.
- Brand presence and authority. Tracks how often your brand is mentioned and cited across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and other platforms, broken out by engine and benchmarked against competitors. It splits results into "Mentions Presence" and "Citations Presence," which is the right distinction: being named and being linked are different outcomes.
- Brand sentiment. Rates each AI response that names your brand as Positive, Neutral or Negative, with the reasoning shown. It can also test whether answers change depending on the persona asking, for example a practitioner versus a decision maker.
- Prompt intelligence. Builds and tracks conversational prompts mapped to stages of the buyer journey, and flags when a competitor takes over an answer you used to own.
- AI recommendations. Shows which page currently holds a citation, compares it with yours on citation counts, ranking keywords and estimated traffic, and produces a content brief. It also names publications and contributors earning citations on your topics, as leads for outreach.
- Team reporting. Charts pinned to BrightEdge dashboards with annotations, plus PNG and CSV export.
BrightEdge Generative Parser and AI Overviews
The BrightEdge Generative Parser is the company's in-house system for tracking Google's AI results. BrightEdge says on its AI Overviews guide that it used the Generative Parser to monitor Google's Search Generative Experience in 2023, before SGE became AI Overviews in May 2024.
BrightEdge publishes findings from this data. One example on the same guide: according to the Generative Parser, featured snippets showed the strongest correlation with the presence of an AI Overview among the SERP features BrightEdge measured. That fits Google's own position. Google's AI features documentation says pages only need to be indexed and eligible for a snippet to appear as supporting links, with no extra technical requirements. Treat vendor correlation data as useful context, not proof of cause.
Strengths
BrightEdge's main strength is putting AI visibility inside a mature enterprise SEO stack.
- One platform for SEO and AI answers. Rankings, content, technical data and AI visibility share dashboards, which helps diagnosis because AI engines retrieve from search indexes.
- Mentions and citations reported separately. Many tools blur the two.
- Persona testing. Checking whether answers change by buyer type is uncommon and useful for B2B.
- Action-oriented output. Citation gap analysis that ends in a brief and an outreach list is closer to work than a score.
- Long history with Google's AI results. BrightEdge has tracked AI-generated results since the SGE period.
Limitations
BrightEdge's limitations are mostly about access and cost transparency.
- No published pricing. You cannot compare cost per prompt or per engine without sales calls.
- Enterprise-only in practice. The products assume a large team and an existing BrightEdge contract. Small and mid-size companies will usually find simpler trackers easier to adopt.
- Engine list is not fully itemized. The product page names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini, then "other AI platforms." Ask which engines are included in your contract, especially Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
- Vendor research is vendor research. Studies from any tool vendor are worth reading, but they are not independent and methods are often only partly disclosed.
Who BrightEdge fits
BrightEdge fits large enterprises that already run SEO on BrightEdge, or are choosing an enterprise SEO platform and want AI visibility in the same contract.
Teams without that budget, or that want a dedicated AI tracker they can trial today, should compare options in our AI visibility platforms comparison and our Profound review. Frequently asked questions
What is BrightEdge AI visibility?
BrightEdge AI visibility refers mainly to AI Catalyst, the BrightEdge module that tracks how AI platforms mention, cite and describe a brand. As of October 2026 it covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and other platforms, with competitor benchmarks, sentiment ratings, prompt tracking by buyer stage, and content recommendations.
What is the BrightEdge Generative Parser?
The BrightEdge Generative Parser is BrightEdge's proprietary system for tracking how Google's AI-generated results appear and change. BrightEdge says it used it to monitor Search Generative Experience in 2023 and continued after SGE became AI Overviews in May 2024. BrightEdge uses the data in its research and in its products.
How much does BrightEdge AI Catalyst cost?
BrightEdge does not publish pricing for AI Catalyst or its other AI products as of October 2026. The products are sold through demos and enterprise contracts, usually alongside the core BrightEdge SEO platform. Ask for a quote that itemizes engines covered, prompt limits and refresh frequency, so you can compare it with tools that publish prices.
Does BrightEdge track Google AI Overviews?
Yes. As of October 2026, BrightEdge's AI Catalyst page lists Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode among the platforms it tracks, and the company has monitored Google's AI results since the SGE period using its Generative Parser. It also offers a dedicated solution page for optimizing for AI Overviews.
Is BrightEdge a good choice for small businesses?
BrightEdge is built and priced for enterprise teams, with demo-led sales and no published plans. A small business that mainly needs to know whether AI engines mention it will usually get better value from a self-serve AI visibility tracker with public pricing, or from a manual routine that checks a fixed list of buyer questions each month.
